About Strflow

Strflow is a note-taking app designed to capture unstructured thoughts as they are. You can jot things down instantly—like texting yourself—and your notes naturally form a chronological timeline over time.

Instead of forcing structure upfront, Strflow lets ideas, thoughts, and small tasks flow freely first, then gently organizes them through timelines, tags, and checklists. It’s built to support the way thoughts actually happen: quickly, imperfectly, and without interruption.

Features

  • Chat-style, chronological timeline
  • Tags for lightweight organization
  • Built-in Todo and reminders
  • Encrypted iCloud sync and backup (end-to-end encryption with iCloud Advanced Data Protection)

About the Developer

Strflow is created by Shingo Eguchi, a Japanese indie app developer now based in London. Originally started as a personal side project, Strflow continues to evolve through hands-on development and real-world use.

Why Did I Create This?

My note-taking habit has always been to write things down the moment a thought occurs. For a long time, that meant sending messages to myself in chat apps, or quickly jotting things down using text editors and plugins like Emacs with org-mode—scattered, unstructured, and immediate. I wasn’t looking for structure first. I just needed a place to write—fast.

Over time, I realized that this unstructured way of taking notes was essential to how I think. So I wanted to create a note-taking app that could naturally embrace that style—allowing thoughts to be captured freely as they are, and then gently organized afterward, without getting in the way.

That idea became Strflow.
